One of our focuses is on educating Unitarian Universalist individuals and congregations about mass incarceration and its effects.

  • In March 2016 we held a workshop on Racial Justice and Prisons, led by Chris Crass, a Unitarian Universalist activist.
  • In October, we held a workshop on Radical Hospitality, focused on preparing people to interact with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people.  It was a pilot of a workshop that was created for us by Rev. Jason Lydon, a Unitarian Universalist minister in Massachusetts who has been incarcerated himself.
  • We offered the Prison Industrial Complex (PIC) 101 workshop in the Hinsdale and Bloomington/Normal congregations.

We want to thank the People’s Church of Chicago, Countryside, Hinsdale, and Bloomington/Normal for hosting workshops for us this year!  We couldn’t do it without you!
